There are some goals set under the wildlife conservation. Conserving nature for future generations so that they can also feel and understand the beauty of nature and the habitat they live in is one of the main goals of wildlife conservation. In some countries wildlife conservation is supported by various government agencies where the funds are provided by the government of the nations in order to accomplish the various goals set under this act. Apart from the government agencies, there are also a large number of independent organizations which work for such cause by implementing the policies which are aimed at wildlife conservation without asking for any profits from the government authorities.

It has become very much necessary to protect the wildlife from the negative human activities which is the biggest reason for their extinction. Negative human activities such deforestation on a large scale is one of the major cause for wildlife extinction. The other major dangers apart from this are categorized as follows:

First and the biggest factor that has lead to wildlife endanger is the loss of habitat. With the growing human population, the place for their habitat is decreasing day by day. And to solve this problem of shelter to humans, the natural and wildlife habitat are getting affected. Because of this it is becoming very difficult for the animals to survive in such an adverse and poor space which is very different from the nature that they require for their easy survival.

Another factor is the drastic change in the climatic conditions. Since, most of the plants and animals require specific climatic conditions for their existence the climatic changes have to the extinction of variety of plants and animals. Not only the plants and animals are affected by the changes in the climate, also the small and unique categories of insects are also affected by such changes. Any change in the level of moisture in the natural air can also prove to be harmful for the survival of wild life.

Next big reason behind wildlife conservation is the use of hazardous chemicals and pesticides for various human purposes. Because of the introduction of the natural plants to the toxic chemicals and pesticides they are turning out to be poisonous for their consumers irrespective of their origin.

In addition to these reasons, other big threat to wildlife is the unlawful hunting and poaching of wild life. The act of fishing or hunting at public or unauthorized places is termed as poaching. Because of this, there is no control over the humans who perform these actions that are leading to danger to wildlife. Also, the improper management by the forest guards and the forest officers has further increased this problem.

Other factors causing a threat to wildlife population are the natural calamities such as the earthquakes, forest fires, floods, lightning and the volcanic eruptions. Also the pollution released in to the environment is making life difficult not only for the humans themselves but also for the animals and plants.

The carnivorous nature of the humans and other animals has also led to over exploitation of the wildlife resources. Some examples of over exploitation of wildlife are over fishing and over hunting of the rare species.
